Causes we support

Empower through education

Udaan,  a Hindi word for flight is the name of the initiative that gives wings to the dreams and aspirations of a number of children in the local community of Powai. Adoption of a local Municipal School to provide remedial learning to their current students and class dropouts is a novel yet impactful way of bringing change to the lives of children from underprivileged families. Then allowing the employees of JLT to participate in the children’s learning journey is just the icing on the cake! Our journey with Udaan started 6 years ago when the movement to drive education in the local community started from the basement of a building. From providing transport bus service for children to reach school premises, taking students on field trips, participating in their sports day events to teaching lessons on science, geography and social sciences - the WeCare volunteers spend some sanctioned hours every week with the children.

Help the Elderly

As India’s vast population ages, the challenges of providing health and social care to the older generation, especially those living below poverty lines grows that much larger. JLT is partnered with Helpage India, a not for profit organization focused on health and social care of underprivileged senior citizens in the country. Helpage India has a strong network of support for the old age homes and day care centre in Mumbai who are provide contributions from the employees through our distribution programmes held in the JLT office premises. Helpage India also runs a Sponsor-a-Gran programme that allows employees to adopt a grandparent and look after them. Mobile Medicare units are run by Helpage India throughout the city to dispense medicines to the impoverished elderly - JLT volunteers provide support to the doctor running the mobile medicare units.
